《ダビング・ハウスの再生》は、本多邸の移築と主人であった忠次の逸話から着想した映像作品で、私たちが物事を物質的・精神的に継承する際に行なわれる再現行為と重ね書きに着目し、制作プロセスにも作品自体にも“再” “重” の性質を組み込んでいる。忠次の妻、息子、娘の会話を取材者である私が一人で再現するのはその典型であり、こうして再現した会話に、さらに世田谷時代の本多邸の写真、忠次が残したスケッチや資料、本多邸がロケ地になった映画やTVドラマのシーンを再利用して映像として重ねる。このような性格をもつ映像作品の“再”生は、移築復原された「旧本多忠次邸」の現在を象徴するものであり、《ダビング・ハウスの再生》は物質的・精神的継承の本質を露にするための装置としてそこに置かれる。
This is the video work which I made based on the research of the anecdote of Tadatsugu Honda who is removing and rebuilding of the Honda’s house and the master. This house was removed and rebuilt from Tokyo to Okazaki-shi.it is site specific work.I pay my attention that we put things on a material reproduction act to be carried out when I succeed mentally and write it. And I incorporate a property “to repeat” “again” (in work in itself) in a production process.I interview a wife of Tadatsugu, a son, a daughter and reproduce the conversation alone.And I put a photograph, a movie, TV drama, a video of the sketching taken in Honda’s house on the sound.I think that such a production procedure expresses removing and rebuilding, a property of the reconstruction.
